Our Public Safety Services
9-1-1 Call Taking (Primary PSAP)
When someone dials 9-1-1, Northern911 is often the first voice they hear. Our certified 9-1-1 Telecommunicators answer, assess, and transfer calls to the appropriate police, fire, or ambulance agency ensuring fast, accurate, and compassionate response.
Fire Dispatch (Secondary PSAP)
From rural volunteer fire departments to multi-station areas, Northern911 provides NFPA-compliant dispatch services with flexible delivery models including two-way radio integration, SMS Messaging as well as various mobile emergency response applications such as IamResponding.
Backup PSAP Services
Every ECC needs a continuity plan. Northern911 serves as a trusted backup for both Primary and Secondary PSAPs, maintaining call flow and documentation during outages, staffing shortages, or surge events.
Satellite 9-1-1 Services
When traditional cellular coverage ends, Northern911 bridges the gap. We handle text-based 9-1-1 events from satellite users across Canada and the U.S., verifying location and coordinating with the correct emergency agency, even from the most remote environments.
VoIP 9-1-1 (Canada)
As a CRTC-designated intermediary provider, Northern911 routes nomadic VoIP emergency calls across Canada, ensuring subscribers can reach 9-1-1 no matter where they are. Fully compliant, secure, and integrated with carrier networks.
9-1-1 Default Routing
When a 9-1-1 call cannot reach its intended PSAP because of an outage, overflow, or unserved area, Northern911 ensures it’s still answered. We serve as the default-route safety net for carriers, VoIP providers, and ESInet/NGCS partners across North America.
Out-of-Jurisdiction Support Line
When a 9-1-1 call lands in the wrong ECC, Northern911 provides a fast, reliable path to the right one. We verify, connect, and transfer calls over the 9-1-1 network whenever possible — reducing hold times and keeping your Telecommunicators focused on local emergencies.
Emergency Operator Transfer
When your operators need to connect callers to 9-1-1 across North America, Northern911 transfers your call to the correct 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center for the caller’s location, anywhere in the United States or Canada.
